There are miles of long beautiful beaches that you can enjoy and turtle nesting beaches where you can share the beach with turtle’s eggs laying on the beach. Beautiful jungles are waiting for you, with freshening waterfalls and without dangerous species of animals to be afraid of. This makes Andaman jungle experience, the more pleasant than visiting jungles in the Tropical Asia, Amazon basin or in Africa. And off-course without saying the underwater world of Andaman is so beautiful.

Now you may be asking yourself: how can I manage to experience everything and how much time do I need?

Port Blair

Port Blair is a pleasant city to visit and walk around and will offer you all the basic requirements. There are also a bunch of attractions in Port Blair. Waling orientation points in the center are around the Gandhi statue and the Clock tower. The main shopping street is between the Gandhi statue and the Clock tower. Road from the Clock tower to the north-west will lead you to the Marina park, Food court and Cellular Jail. All Indian surely like the Cellular Jail as historical monument full of freedom fighter history and resistance spirit. All these key attractions are within walking distance from each other.

Corbyn’s cove beach, Chidia Tapu and Wandoor are some highlights of the city attractions and worth visit places. Joly Buoy – Nice Island; Wandoor – the village on the west banks of South Andaman island is a gateway to Mahatma Gandhi National Park.

Ross Island

One thing really worth that is spending half a day in Ross Island during your stay in Port Blair.

Ross Island (The one offshore Port Blair): There are two islands in Andaman and Nicobar archipelago bear the same name “Ross”, one is neighboring to Port Blair and the other is connected by a sand bridge to Smith Island, in North Andaman. Both are perfectly worth visit.

The Ross Island opposite to Aberdeen Jetty is an excellent place to visit. Ross Island served as a bureau of British administration. Brits ruled Andamans from here until an earthquake destroyed the little town on the island in the first half of the 20th century. Ruins of the purified plants, officers’ quarters, the cathedral and even a swimming pool were taken by nature since then, creating a picture-perfect world in the Angkor Wat style. Do not miss it!

Havelock Island

The island of Havelock is a symbol of the Andaman archipelago, 95% of the tourists who come to the Andaman Islands are Indian tourists, Recently Havelock has been renamed to Swaraj Dweep, so do not get confused. Havelock Island is called Swaraj Dweep. Havelock is the most developed island with the numerous number of accommodation options and offers the best connection with the capital, Port Blair. Because of Beaches, nature and the underwater world- Havelock can be considered a paradise for all India visitors.

Neil Island

Neil Island, together with its bigger neighboring Island Havelock are two most visited Andaman Islands and thus two most touristy ones. Visitors are usually tend to think of Neil’s island as being a silent alternative to Havelock. Having visited 12 Andaman and one Nicobar Island islands, I have difficulties to agree with that. Neil is the second most touristy of all Andaman Islands. Neil Island is locally known as Shaheed Dweep and sometimes mentioned as “Neil’s” Island.

Little Andaman

If you have extra time I would recommend you to visit Little Andaman. Board the overnight Ocean Vessel heading south in the evening and around six in the morning you are there. Little Andaman has the southernmost point of Andaman you can get to.

In Little Andaman you will have a thrilling feel of the end of the world. Beaches are completely free, reservoirs, jungle and waterfalls wait just for you. You possibly meet no one while visiting. Enjoy a motorbike ride along the island’s only road and feel the complete freedom to explore the beauty of this island. Connection to Port Blair is 3 to 4 times a week and best thing about Little Andaman is: it is surprisingly inexpensive!
